Stainless steel gate valve is a pipeline accessory used to open and close the pipeline, control the flow direction, regulate and control the parameters of the conveyed medium (temperature, pressure and flow). In response to pressure, temperature or other forms of sensing signals, the stainless steel gate valve can act as intended, or simply open or close, independent of the sensing signal. The valve relies on a drive or automatic mechanism to move the opening and closing member up and down, slide, swing or rotate, thus changing the size of its flow path area to achieve its control function.
The working principle of stainless steel gate valve The opening and closing part of the gate valve is the gate, and the direction of movement of the gate is perpendicular to the direction of the fluid. When the gate valve's gate plate moves in a straight line with the valve stem, it is called a lift stem gate valve, also known as an open stem gate valve. Usually, there are trapezoidal threads on the lift rod, and through the nut on the top of the stainless steel gate valve and the guide groove on the valve body, the rotary motion is changed into a linear motion, i.e., the operating torque is changed into an operating thrust. When the stainless steel gate valve is opened, the fluid passage is completely open when the lift height of the gate is equal to 1: 1 times the size of the stainless steel gate valve, but the position cannot be monitored during operation. In practice, the apex of the valve stem serves as a marker, i.e., the immovable position as its fully open position. In order to consider the locking phenomenon caused by temperature changes, the stainless steel gate valve is usually turned back 1/21 turn in the top position as the stainless steel gate valve fully open position. Therefore, the fully open position of the stainless steel gate valve is determined by the position of the gate, i.e., the stroke. In some gate valves, the stem nut is mounted on the gate and the handwheel rotation drives the stem to rotate, thus lifting the gate.
